WWII GERMAN 98K MAUSER COMMERCIAL BAYO-PAUL WEYERSBERG-REICHSPOST “R.P.”-EXC

Excellent condition original WWII German 998k Mauser bayonet that is a commercial production example and maker marked “PAUL WEYERSBERG & CO. SOLINGEN” on the left ricasso. Right ricasso is marked “R.P. for Reichspost (Postal Service) issue with a serial number. Bayonet has excellent original blue finish showing very little wear. Blade was never sharpened. Bakelite grips have a good tight fit and a few scratches, lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original unmarked steel scabbard that has excellent original blue finish and one dent. Also complete with correct original leather frog. Leather is soft and supple with some wear and flaking, stitching is tight. A nice, rare Reichspost marked commercial 98k Mauser bayonet.
