WW2 German K98 Bayonet W/ Frog & Panzer Knot. Parade Chrome Mismatched NICE!

For sale here is great looking WW2 German Chromed k98 Parade Bayonet W/ Frog & Portapee Knot.  This is an unusual one.  All of the metal components including the scabbard, blade, pommel, button, crossguard, tang, and front frog rivets have been very professionally and heavily chromed or even nickel plated.  The bayonet has dark brown bakelite handles, and the frog is dark brown leather.  The knot seems to have been tied to the frog forever, and it has pink Panzer or Police accents.  Unfortunately, the serial numbers do not match.  The bayonet is maker marked 41 ASW and has a serial number of 1149 U.  The scabbard has a serial number of 3969 A.  The scabbard, pommel, and button have all of the waffenampts that you would expect to see.  The chrome all shows some soiling and discoloration, but looks like it would clean to a mirror finish very easily.  The blade is unsharpened and has a perfect point.  It does have some runner marks.  The button functions as it should.  The frog is not maker marked.  The bullion and leather knot does show patina with age darkening and a moth has bitten the pink wool felt end as shown.  There is some debate as to when/where these may have been chromed.  I have owned quite a few of these over the years, and i have never handled another that was this well done.  Some say that they were carried this way by certain units, and others say that these were done post war.  I don't know for sure.  I only know that this is well done and appears to have been done perfectly.  This will make a great addition to your collection.
