    Description

Offered is an original pre-World War Two production German bayonet and scabbard manufactured for the iconic K98k infantry rifle. This bayonet was manufactured in 1937, as evident on the spine of the blade. It is coded S/172 for manufacture by Carl Eickhorn. The bayonet retains the vast majority of its original blue and also retains its factory edge, having never been sharpened. The lock button functions exactly as it should and it is correctly double waffenampted at the top of the pommel. The original wood grips are crack and chip free and appear to have never been removed. The scabbard, while unmatching, is scarce in its own right. It is coded “i” for manufacture by Elite Diamant and is dated for production in 1941. It is correctly waffenampted on the ball at the tip of the scabbard. The bayonet and scabbard are offered just as pictured.
