    Description

Unknown eagle design, eagle similar to King Frederick of Roman Empire, not sure who used it during WWI.  24mm diameter. Not sure what type of early plastic this is could be, either Bakelite, Galalith, or Celluloid. There's a pock mark at top of the left wing from air trapped in mold at time of casting.  Made by "W. Michovius ~ Gottbus" late in the war after brass became harder to acquire. These "forest buttons" or "Forst Button or Knopf" were made for most all the armies which comprised the Imperial German Army from around 1900-1918. They were used on the green uniform jackets.
