Description
Very good condition original pre WWII German army ordnance
officer sword that is marked “C.E./38” on top of the guard for manufacture by
Carl Eickhorn in 1938 and has a few Waffenamt proof marks on various parts. Has
the Eickhorn trademark on the left ricasso behind the langet. 31 ½” blade has
nice original bright finish with a little gray and brown patina and was never
sharpened. Still has original leather washer at the base. Brass hilt has
attractive patina. Grip is missing some of the wire wrap. The leather finger
loop is present. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has a
nonmatching serial number to the sword, and is marked “C.E./G.” for manufacture
by Eickhorn in 1935. Scabbard has original blue metal finish with some brown
patina and a few dings. A nice German ordnance officer sword for your
collection.
