Lockheed Aircraft 10K Gold 25 Year Service Pin (No Reserve)

Description

This 10kt gold lapel pin was issued to a relative of my mother who was the true example of a "Rosie The Riveter" who worked for Lockheed for over twenty five years, including the World War II years. This pin has the actual latching needle style that was issued to women. This particular version, probably issued in the late 1950s or early 1960s has much finer detail than pins issued in other eras. There are five diamonds inset in the pin, one diamond for each five years of service.
I have yet to see this same pin anywhere else. If you compare with others you'll see that the finer lines trailing the logo are unique to this model of the pin. The tie tac versions for men do not have the refined lines.
