    Description

You are bidding on authentic early German Bulgarian K98 combat fighting dagger.
During the WWII Bulgarian Army was supplied with all kind of military equipment by its allies Germany and Austria. After the war all German bayonets Mauser K98 left were used again like this new model Bulgarian combat trench fighting knifes K98. Initialy in ‘50s they were produced only for the use of the Bulgarian Communistic landing troops. After that, during ‘70s-80's this model was retired and has been used by the other army units in extremly limited quantity - only on barracks duty. At the beginning of the ‘80s they were replaced by the AK 47 bayonets. Only few of the Mauser remakes survived the communist regime. They are quite rare in present days.
There are known two different types of this combat knife: with leather and with chrome plated iron K98 scabbard.  The grip has bakelite on both sides - remake of K98. One of the rivets on the handle is replaced by nut as pictured bellow.  The crossguard is stamped by the communist army serial number, where the knife was enlisted to, which is almost erased  "24". The blade has been sharpened ago and on some areas is jagged.  The bakelite grip is in excellent condition - no cracks or ships.
Extremely rare combat knife in authentic condition.  Has not been cleaned.
