German Army Officer's Sword Portepee Knot - Wehrmacht Heer

Description

Original German WW2 Army officer's sword portepee. The portepee consists of a strap, slide, stem, crown and ball. The grey coloured leather strap has double silver wire stitching with fine silver braiding on the crown and ball. The "eye" at the bottom of ball features silver coloured threads. The portepee has seen plenty of wear and some of the stitching at the top end has become detached in places (please study the photos). It measures approximately 45 cm in length from tip to tip. This item came direct from a veteran's family and has never been in a collection before.
