    Description

This Belt and Buckle ( M1847-M1895 ) are no less than 150+ Years Old and come from the Kingdom of Prussia before Germany was created at the conclusion of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871. The belt and buckle are in battle scarred & field repaired condition. Germany was unified under the King of Prussia who was elected German Emperor at Versailles. He held the dual role of King of Prussia as well as German Emperor. Belt buckles prior to the unification show a large Prussian Crown in the center, there are differences in this crown from the crown shown before unification. The Buckle is battle scarred . The belt measures approximately 37”long & for a waist between 35.5” & 30” and has been field repaired ( see photo’s ).
For some unknown reason older belts and Buckles were used by the German 8th Army on the Eastern Front in the Great War. When Russia bowed out in 1917, several units were transferred to the Western Front where they finished the war. If this belt could speak it would have an incredible story to tell.
This is a great collectors piece of history.
