What makes the COMET so great is that Accuflex brought out an electric flexion table that has all of the absolute basics needed such as tilt headpiece, adjustable face cushions, hingedown abdominal, ankle extension and variable speed electric flexion, but also added rear lateral flexion with removable guide handle.
Rear lateral flexion gives a bit more versatility when treating disc conditions and fixated vertebra.  While the table electrically flexes at whatever speed the doctor wants, he can also move the rear of the table through various ranges of motion using the removable guide handle.  Or, the doctor can laterally flex the table and then lock it into place.
The ability to do rear lateral flexion also frees the doctor up to make a spinous contact with one hand for distraction while moving the table through ranges of motion with the other.  Very few electric flexion tables allow this, and if they do, are much more expensive than the COMET.
