  • Condition: Excellent Conditon throughout. Art has been protected behind a glass frame since new. The colors are crisp and clean. Unfortunately, there is some reflection from the glass frame of this painting. The painting is sealed within the glass frame, and I didn't want to "Unseal" the frame. The frame is in excellent condition as well. It's a solid oak frame, with a medium color stain on it. The wood grain is very nice and compliments this painting beautifully. I have taken many close up photos whereby you can zoom in and check every detail of the painting, matting, anf the frame. If you have any quesitons I have not answered in this listing, please ask.

    Description

This is an original composition, not a print of any kind. The media is mixed: pen and ink, watercolor, and gauche (a form of solid pigment watercolor). It measures approximately: 22 1/4 inches wide and 18 1/4 inches tall (in the frame). The frame is a medium color oak. The frame provides perfect protection for the painting, with it's glass front. The original watercolor by itself is approximately: 17 x 14. The art has been painted on archival watercolor paper of very high quality.
The composition is of a Boeing Steerman model 75 (or A75). Of course this airplane is a bi-plane. I grew up in the midwest and very near the Dekalb, Illinois Airport. Back in the old days Bi-planes were common to the airport. I would watch them fly in and take off. I remember waving to the pilots and on occasion having them wave back to me, or pitch their wings to the left and right.  It was a thrill to a kid.
I will package this artwork with great care for shippment. Shipping will be USPS., or FedEx.  Shipping to the lower 48 US states only.
