These vintage beauties are from a large lot of beads we acquired through an estate auction. All of the beads were loose when we got them, so it’s unclear is they were ever used.
The 5 beads have larger holes then normally seen; great for using with thick cord, suede lace, or leather.
These pre-owned beads are in good condition.
As always with handmade beads, each one is unique is size, shape, and coloration. They are perfectly imperfect!

MILLEFIORI GLASS BEADS:
Millefiori, also known as Murrine, is one of the best-known and highly sought after techniques of Murano Glass making. It stands for "a thousand flowers" in Italian, and indeed, the end result of this painstaking work often reminds a field of whimsical flowers showing off their beautiful colors.
Millefiori beads in the late 19th century and early 20th century were made almost exclusively in Venice. Venetians had a long history of making beads and they still do today. However, note that the phrase ‘millefiori beads’ is also used for beads from other countries, provided they have a mosaic pattern.
In Venice, most of the bead work was done in a town north of the city, Murano. It had a busy port and this made it possible for beads to be exported to Africa easily. In the 1930s, Ermanno Toso led to modernization of the theme of millefiori beads and other millefiori products. However, the difference in ancient beads and modern beads from the region is small.
