Lock Nut / Jam Nut for 3/8" Axle Front Hubs & Vintage Rear Freewheel Hubs
This is a New Steel 3/8" x 26 Tpi ( Threads per Inch ) Axle Jam or Lock Nut with your Choice of Color and Quantity from the pull down menu. Typically these are used on: 3/8" axle Front Hubs ( one on each side of the cones to lock the spacing on the hub ) and 3/8" Axle Rear Vintage Freewheel Hubs ( typically take 3 lock nuts, thats 2 to lock the cones for hub spacing and 1 to lock the spacer on for the extra distance needed for a multi speed freewheel ).  Multi Speed Freewheels Hubs are used on some new bikes, but mostly Vintage Freewheel Hubs, like used on Vintage Schwinn Bikes. The Lock Nut is for hubs thats have 3/8" by 26 tpi axles, which is in most all new 3/8" axle front hubs and Vintage Freewheel Hubs with 3/8" axles. The lock nut takes a 17mm drive or cone wrench and is approximately 5/32" or 4mm thick. This part can be used with Vintage Schwinn Atom and Schwinn Approved Freewheel Hubs, Like Found on Vintage 5 Speed Schwinn Stingray & Krate Bikes and 5 and 10 Speed Middleweight and Lightweight Vintage Schwinn Bicycles. These Nuts are not for use with Coaster Brake hubs that use different threading.  Buy as needed or Buy multiples and save big on shipping. The Nuts Come in Zinc or Black Finish, your Choice
